China and India will account for more than 1.4 billion of the world's population in 2022, the report said. It also said India will have a population of 1.66 billion in 2050, surpassing China's 1.37 billion at that time. The report predicts that India will overtake China to become the world's most populous country by 2023, accounting for more than half the population of India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt, Congo, the United Republic of Tanzania, Pakistan, and the Philippines. By 2050, the world's population is expected to increase.
