Two weeks after Elon Musk completed his purchase of Twitter, controversies, and conflicts surrounding the dramatic developments at the company continue to make the news. On Sunday, Elon Musk clashed with the company's former vice president of work transformation, Tracy Hawkins, over the issue of employee lunches. Notably, Ms. Hawkins ran a food program on Twitter until a week ago. In its tweet, Twitter said it spent between $20-$25 per person per day, which allowed employees to work through meals and meetings. Hawkins said earlier claims by Elon Musk that almost no one came to the office and that the estimated cost per meal served over the past 12 months was more than $400 were false.
She wrote, “This is a lie. I started this program up until a week ago. I didn't want to work for @elonmusk because I spent $20-$25 per person per day on breakfast & lunch. This enabled the employees to work through lunchtime. Attendance in offices ranges from 20-50%.

Replying to her tweet, Mr. Musk says Twitter spends $13 million a year on food service at its San Francisco headquarters. Denying the former employee's claims, Mr. Musk wrote, ''False. Twitter spends $13M a year on food service for SF HQ. Records show that the badge has a maximum occupancy of 25%, with an average occupancy of less than 10%. More people prepare breakfast than eat breakfast. There is no one in the building so they don't even bother to eat dinner. Even Elon Musk pointed out that there are more people than just breakfast eaters. He said the data obtained showed that the majority of residents were 25% and the average resident was less than 10%.
